Since late 2012, Bucknell University has been working to better understand the still-developing world of Open Educational Resources (OERs). OERs are a set of educational materials and experiences which include, in the words of the 2012 NITLE Summit Report: “free and open access to platforms, tools and resources in education (such as learning materials, course materials, videos of lectures, assessment tools, research, study groups, textbooks, etc.).” This site serves as a hub for those in the Bucknell community, and beyond, interested in Bucknell’s approach to OER development and application.

For some background on the development of OER initiatives at Bucknell, be sure to read the summary of the 2013 President’s Task Force Report.

The initiatives page contains information about ongoing programs designed to improve the application and production of Open Educational Resources at Bucknell, including the flipped classroom initiative.

For resources related to Open Education, including a guide for Open Educational Resources, and a list of some of the class materials and other educational resources made available by Bucknell professors, check out the resources page.
